My Work 我的作品: Passion & Inside

Artist Statement

Ever since my childhood I’ve had a strong interest and curiosity in human emotion. I’ve always been attracted to artworks that give a vivid portrayal of human’s happiness, joy, sadness, sorrow and jealousy.

Before starting work on this project I spent a considerable amount of time searching for an innovative way to present human emotion. I often wondered how I could create a piece that can fully envelop this diverse and intricate topic; representing joy and happiness without drawing eyes or a face presented an especially difficult obstacle. After much research I came to the conclusion that the movement of blood could accurately portray my ideas.

In this series titled “Passion: Inside,” I used a single color to create an image similar to the moving human body. The color represents the blood, or emotion, and the movement can be described as the rhythm of the blood. These pieces express unrestrained passion that delves deep into the inner human realm of emotion.

My sincerest desire is that through viewing this series of artwork, audiences not only witness my artistic skill and concept, but also will feel the positive emotion and thought I sought to share.
